Pride Prom
June 13, 9 p.m. - 12 a.m.
Pizza Bones
2314 Jefferson Ave. Richmond, VA 23223
It’s Pride month, and we’re celebrating. We’re reclaiming and reliving our prom days … that may have looked like this:
Pride Prom is for everyone who wants to don their gay apparel and dance the night away. We’ll have Richmond’s own Deep Clean (Sofia Lakis) and Bedspread Radio laying down bangers all night, and we’ll be featuring wines from LGBTQIA+ winemakers, as well as craft mocktails. There will be photo booths! BALLOON ARCHES! DISCO BALLS! It’s a proper prom, y’all!
We’re also partnering with some amazing Richmond orgs to make this all happen. Health Brigade will be onsite handing out condoms and lube and all that good good information on how to practice safer sex and stay healthy.
“Health Brigade carries on a 50 year legacy as Virginia’s oldest free and charitable clinic offering a growing array of medical, mental health, community outreach and care coordination services for low-income and uninsured persons.
Health Brigade is known as a safe place to seek care for those who need it the most. We are committed to serving the most marginalized populations in the community–not only those with few resources, but also those most oppressed and stigmatized.”
We’ll also be donating the proceeds of the event to Health Brigade and Southerners On New Ground (SONG). SONG brings together intersectional groups of LGBTQ+ people to work toward justice in America’s South.
“SONG envisions a sustainable South that embodies the best of its freedom traditions and works towards the transformation of our economic, social, spiritual, and political relationships.
We envision a multi-issue southern justice movement that unites us across class, age, race, ability, gender, immigration status, and sexuality; a movement in which LGBTQ people – poor and working class, immigrant, people of color, rural – take our rightful place as leaders shaping our region’s legacy and future. We are committed to restoring a way of being that recognizes our collective humanity and dependence on the Earth.”
We can’t wait to see you and raise a glass to Pride month! If you have any questions, email us at info@inwinerva.com or DM us on Instagram.
