We’re going on another field trip! This time we’re taking a day trip up to two wineries nestled in the Shenandoah Valley. We’ll take a bus from Richmond (no drinking and driving my friends!) up to Blenheim Vineyards and Septenary Winery for a tour and tastings, as well as a stop at Greenwood Gourmet Grocery for lunch.
Blenheim Vineyards
For over 10 years, Blenheim Vineyards has been crafting quality and sustainable 100% Virginia grown wines and managing 32 acres of estate vineyards. It is located at 31 Blenheim Farm, Charlottesville, VA.
Septenary Winery
Septenary’s vision as stewards of the historic properties on their land, as well as their winemaking philosophy is something we can agree with: Maintain a healthy respect for the land, its history and its fruits, and refine only as consistent with that respect. It is located at 200 Seven Oaks Farm Greenwood, VA.
Stellar women in wine will be giving us the VIP tour of the vineyards and leading us through tastings of the wines grown and made on location. Our brave Women In Wine leader, founder Megan Holland, will usher us throughout our day and make sure we drink enough water.
Tracey Love | Sales, Events and Marketing Director at Blenheim Vineyards
Manages the wholesale distribution of our wines, social media and marketing, and winery events since 2013.
Kirsty Harmon | General Manager and Winemaker at Blenheim Vineyards
Manages and oversees the winery, tasting room, and vineyards, while also making the wines at Blenheim Vineyards since 2008.
Corry Craighill | Winemarker and Vineyard Manager at Septenary Winery
Corry brings many years of winemaking experience from a variety of regions, including South Africa, France, Australia, New Zealand and Oregon in addition to her native Virginia. A graduate of the University of Virginia, she is excited to be back in Charlottesville making wine and tending to the vineyards. Corry was named Loudoun County Winemaker of the Year in 2019.
We will adhere to any and all COVID precautions the wineries, as well as Greenwood Grocery, have in place. All currently require masking when indoors and encourage social distancing throughout. As we are traveling together by bus, please only attend if you are fully vaccinated. We will do our best to space out folks, but we ask that you are only attending with utmost precautions to the health and safety of other attendees.
Additionally, this event, as with all of our events, is a safe space for women and LGBTQ+ people to gather and learn.
